My name is Kasia Drzymalska and I'm 29 year old artist living in Poland.
My very first memories as a child are related to art - I can remember myself coloring in the furnitures, drawing on the walls, books, and literally any surface which could be used, melting wax crayons on a hot tiled stove, trying to teach my younger brother how to pronounce the names of colors, etc.
During school my medium of choice was graphite, but I was longing for color, which was the reason why I started to explore other mediums: soft pastels, watercolors, acrylics and oils. I never decided to pick only one of them because every medium has it's own properties and possibilities. I also like to combine various techniques and experiment for the best results.
What inspires me? Mainly beauty of nature. First subjects that I have ever drew were animals. Now I also draw (and paint) flowers, landscapes, portraits and still nature. I love bright colors, subtle gradation of tones and fine details.
Art for me is not only a hobby, but, above all, a way of life. I couldn't live without creating something, whether it would be a painting, melody played on guitar or a poem, but finally I found fulfillment in the visual art.
For any questions, comments or commissions please e-mail me.
